Soccer Camp for Kids Ages 3-6
      Soccer coaches from the Unit­ed Kingdom will run a series of youth soccer education programs this month at the Pond Street Fields in Norfolk. Nationally known North American Soccer Camps, which touts “strengths-based coaching,” will run two programs for differ­ent age groups the week of August 23 through August 27.

Voter Registration Deadline for State Primary Election
     Wednesday August 25, 2010, is the last day to register to vote at the State Primary Election to be held on September 14, 2010. Anyone who has not previ­ously registered, is a new resi­dent, or will become 18 on or be­fore September 14 may register by mail or in person at the Town Clerk’s Office.

NCL’s Norfolk Casino Night Gala Coming Up
     The Norfolk Community League’s biggest event of year, “The Town Of Norfolk Casino Night Gala,” will be held on Saturday, Septem­ber 11. The Las Vegas gaming-themed gala will be held at the Four Points Sheraton in Norwood beginning at 6 p.m. The event is open to all. There will be dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions at the Casino Night Gala.

Eagle Scout Candidate Replaces Shed for King Philip Music Association
     The shed behind the old Wood School in Plainville has seen better days. Between the peeling, faded paint, splintered wood and a host of mice and snakes, it hardly seems the site that helps generates thousands of dollars for the King Philip Music Association.
