Kenneth E. Tripp, 91

Kenneth E. Tripp, 91, of Fruit Street in Norfolk died on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Franklin Skilled Nursing Center in Franklin.

He was born February 9, 1919 in Frankfort, Maine, loving son of Eugene and Ethel M. (Smart) Tripp. He was a graduate of the Frankfort public schools. He attended Burdette Business School in Boston, and was a graduate of the Bartlett School of Dendrology in Connecticut. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a medic in the European Theater. He worked for a short time in White Plains, New York, and just after World War II he worked as an accountant for firms in Boston and Providence.

In 1956, he and his wife moved to Norfolk, where the couple raised their family and Mr. Tripp started Ken Tripp Tree and Landscape Inc. Ken retired a few years back after 31 years as the tree warden for the Town of Norfolk, a position that he was always proud of. He and his wife were avid travelers and had been to every state in the union, Japan, China, New Zealand, Iceland, Spain, Italy, and Austria. He was the loving husband of 64 years of Anne T. (Butterfield) Tripp. He is survived by his dear children, Kenneth L. Tripp, David A. Tripp, and Jeanette A. Melcher, all of Norfolk. He was the devoted grandfather of six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was father of the late Richard C. and Stephen B. Tripp.

There is no wake. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10 at R.J. Ross Funeral Home at 135 South Street (Route 1A) in Wrentham Center. Burial is to follow at Norfolk Cemetery.
