Freaky Flash Norfolk Storm Leaves Damage
     A flash storm last weekend ripped through Norfolk, down­ing trees and dumping water in a brief span. A falling tree crushed a car in a driveway on Seekonk Street.

K-6 School Committee: We Need Help
     Now that the Proposition 2 ½ override is kaput, Norfolk School Committee members will have to figure out a way to close a projected $800,000 budget gap. Teacher concessions on sal­ary aren’t an option, because the teachers union has said no, said Shawn Dooley, chairman of the School Committee.

Access Road Through Bicentennial Park Still A Possibility
     Will the town build an access road from Rockwood Road to the elementary school grounds off Boardman Street through Bi­centennial Park? Yes, no, and maybe are all still viable options. Selectman Rob Garrity, no fan of the idea, wants to final­ize a decision on it soon, and so selectmen are inviting various school and town officials to their next board meeting in mid-July 12 to discuss it.

Town Counsel Change Could Be In Offing
      Selectmen appear open to re­placing Norfolk’s town counsel, which would be the first time in 12 years. But with what is unclear. At the end of the evening this past Monday night, Selectman Jim Lehan even floated the idea of using a smorgasbord of law firms for various topics.

Happy Constitution Ratification Day
      The Norfolk Board of Select­men meeting this past Monday night just happened to coincide with chairman Rob Garrity’s birthday, which may explain why he knew that is was also the 222nd anniversary of the ratificationof the United States Constitution by New Hampshire.
