The rain may have wet the ground, but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of those who attended the 18th annual Norfolk Community Day on June 12th at the Holmes Complex. Residents were still able to join in the food, games and fun sponsored by various local groups and organizations. This year the new Joust and Bungee Bull Ride were huge hits in the children’s amusement area. The balloon toss, musical chairs and hula hoop contests were also popular events with the kids. The winner of our first Golf Ball Drop 50/50 raffle was ball #124 purchased by Paul Wilson of Walpole. Mr. Wilson won $1,000 and another $1,000 will be donated to charity. The pie eating contest quickly degenerated into a pie throwing contest. Fire chief Cole Bushnell was declared the official winner because he was the only participant who did not throw his pie.
