Norfolk Public Library Reduces Hours of Operation
     At their meeting on June 23, the Board of Library Trustees decreased library hours to in order to stay within the constraints of the budget reduction voted at town meeting this past May. The library’s budget was reduced by 4% effective July 1 which comes on top of a 6% reduction for the current fiscal year.

Norfolk Community Day 2010 a Soggy Success!
      The rain may have wet the ground, but it did nothing to damp­en the spirits of those who attended the 18th annual Norfolk Com­munity Day on June 12th at the Holmes Complex. Residents were still able to join in the food, games and fun sponsored by various local groups and organizations. This year the new Joust and Bungee Bull Ride were huge hits in the children’s amusement area.

     It’s here! Summer at the Norfolk Public Library is back and better than ever! This year, we are reading with the theme, “Go Green!” and it’s going to be green-tac­ular! Your goal is to read, or be read to, at least 100 minutes per week. Read books, maga­zines, short stories, websites, newspapers, the back of the cereal box, ANYTHING!

     Cazenovia College, a small baccalaureate institution in Central New York, is home to about 1,000 degree-seeking students. Among the recently announced Spring Semes­ter Dean’s List students is Devinne McCarthy, of Nor­folk. Students named to the Dean’s List at Cazenovia Col­lege have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for all courses attempted.
