New KP Superintendent Inks Deal King Philip’s incoming superintendent Elizabeth Zielinski has signed a three-year contract calling for a $135,000 annual salary the first year plus modest raises in the second and third years. The contract calls for a 1 percent increase in the second year plus a merit raise of anywhere between 0 and 2 percent. Zielinski would also get a 1 percent raise in the third year plus a merit raise, if any, of between 0 and 2 percent. Zielinski’s predecessor, Richard Robbat, received a $130,000 salary for the 2008-2009 school year, but took no salary to serve as interim superintendent for the current school year. Zielinski’s contract runs from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013, though either the King Philip School Committee or Zielinski can terminate it with prior notice (90 days for Zielinski, 180 days for the King Philip School Committee). The contract was signed May 17. The text of the contract is being published elsewhere in this week’s issue of The Norfolk Boomerang. |
