Thank You to the Voters

I wish to thank the voters of the Norfolk, Bristol, Middlesex District for all your support. May 11th marked the beginning of a new journey for me, and I am both energized and humbled by the support I received on Election Day. I would also like to thank my all-volunteer campaign team. I am so proud of all of you! We demonstrated to the district that we could get out our message to the voters without resorting to mean-spirited campaign tricks or negative advertising that is unfortunately so prevalent in today’s politics. For the past six years I have proudly served the 9th Norfolk District in the House of Representatives,

and I now look forward to serving to serving a bigger and broader constituency that is made up of people from all walks of life. This is a diverse and wonderful senate district. The constituents in the northern end and have very different issues and needs than constituents in the southern end. From Wayland and Needham, to Plainville and North Attleboro, I assure you I will do my very best to balance these needs and priorities. There is no higher priority for your next State Senator than job creation. In spite of the rhetoric coming out of Washington and Beacon Hill, the government is not a job creator. My job will be to assist in laying the groundwork which will foster economic growth in Massachusetts. Taxes matter to businesses! Business taxes affect business decisions, job creation, retention and competitiveness.

During this election, I have met with people in every corner of this district. I talked with them…but more importantly I listened to them. One thing was inherently clear…They DO NOT WANT to create new taxes or to raise existing ones! They DO NOT WANT a “European style” of health care! Of one thing I am CERTAIN…I will be fighting for the taxpayers every day. Many of you know this, but I have never voted for a tax increase in my legislative career, and as YOUR state senator I will continue to uphold this pledge.

I proudly take on the duties you have given me to serve in the Massachusetts State Senate. I will do my best for the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex district, and will give this job my all.

Finally, I want to thank my family for being with me through thick and thin during this campaign and always. I have so grateful to have all of their love and support.

Thank you all so very much!

Sincerely, State Senator Richard J. Ross
