Joan Marie Jarvis, 74
Joan Marie (Cunningham) Jarvis, 74, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her home in Foxborough, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on May 30, 1935 in Boston. She was the daughter of the late William and Marion (Harrington) Cunningham.
She graduated from Roslindale High School in 1953. She and her husband John were married in West Roxbury on November 24, 1956.
She had lived in Foxborough for the past 50 years.
Joan worked as a bank teller for many years at Foxborough Savings Bank until retiring in 2000. She was an avid golfer. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo with her friends. She was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband during the winter months in Melbourne, Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the beloved wife of John C. Jarvis. She was the loving mother of John “Jack” W. Jarvis, and his wife Catherine, of Wrentham; Patricia, and her husband James Simonson, of Raynham; and Peter, and his wife Yvette, of Norfolk.
She is also survived by four grandchildren. She was the loving sister of William Cunningham of Manhattan, New York; and the late Margaret Bird and John Cunningham. A wake is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21 at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home at 30 South Street in Foxborough. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at St. Mary’s Church on Carpenter Street near the intersection with Church Street in Foxborough.
