Math Fair at Freeman-Centennial School
Over 400 students in grades 3-5 at the Freeman-Centennial School in Norfolk participated recently in the school’s second annual math fair. D e v e l o p m e n t a l math teacher Anne Pizzi used the Massachusetts mathematic frameworks and specific grade level math standards in designing the stations which were both challenging and kid-friendly. Students visited up to ten ‘stations’ where they were engaged in completing the activities. Sixth grade students assisted with grades 4 and 5, while fifth grade students assisted

with grade 3. In a survey completed by all who attended the fair, it was apparent that the math fair was a huge success.
