Robert L. Smith, 70

Robert L. Smith of Center Os­sipee, New Hampshire died Tues­day, May 11, 2010 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. He was 70.

He was born in Somerville, the son of the late Leo and Marga­ret (Reardon) Smith. He graduated from Somerville High School. He lived in Norfolk for 17 years and Medfield for 10 years. He retired in 1985 after 21 years with UPS as a truck driver, primarily out of Watertown and Ashland. He had worked as a real estate agent and served as a con­stable in Norfolk for 12 years. He served in the United States Army Military Police in Germany and was a member of the 62nd Military Police Highway Patrol Association. He was the former husband of Marilyn T. Smith of Millis and Anna M. Smith of Malden. He was the father of Susan Smith of Raynham; Rosemary Mellino, and her husband Jo­seph, of Bridgewater; Michael Smith, and his wife Deborah, of Windham, New Hampshire; and Stephen Smith, and his wife Ker­rie, of Millis. He is also survived by fivegrandchildren: Joseph, Brian, Kyle, Nathan, and Daniel.

A wake is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 16 at R.J. Ross Funeral Home at 135 South Street in Wrentham.

A funeral service is sched­uled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 17 at the funeral home, followed by burial at 12:45 p.m. at Massachu­setts

National Cemetery off Route 28 in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory to Community Hospice House, 22 Prospect St., Nashua, New Hampshire 03060. Visiting hours will be on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. Rela­tives and friends are kindly in­vited.
