Devinne McCarthy wins poster contest at Cazenovia College

(Left): Norfolk resident Devinne McCarthy, a student at Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York, was honored recently by the College’s Substance Abuse Task Force as the first place winner in its 2010 Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest. McCarthy is majoring in Liberal Studies, and was a student in a computer Digital Design class taught by Daniel Canter. Talking about the poster she created, McCarthy said, “I looked for a fact that was interesting and different from most facts. The main aspect behind my poster design is the fact that teenage girls often become pregnant because of drinking too much. I immediately got an inspiration to make an alcohol bottle pregnant because I thought it would have a strong impact, not just make a statement.” Courtesy Photo (Left): Norfolk resident Devinne McCarthy, a student at Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York, was honored recently by the College’s Substance Abuse Task Force as the first place winner in its 2010 Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest.
