Lois A. (McKenna) Fitzgerald, 69

A private memorial service for Louise A. (McK­enna) Fitzgerald was held Saturday, May 1, 2010 on Cape Cod. Mrs. Fitzgerald died November 20, 2009 at her home in Manteca, California. She was 69. She was born in 1940 and raised in Norwood. She was the daughter of Walter and Agnes McK­enna.

She lived in Norfolk for more than 25 years. Lois served as Sunday school superintendent and as a deaconess for the Federated Church of Norfolk for many years. Lois was also active in oth­er

community organizations, including Cub Scouts and as an early member of Norfolk NOVA.

Lois worked for the Commonwealth of Mas­sachusetts as a switchboard operator at MedfieldState Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 1998.

Lois was the beloved wife of Kevin Fitzgerald. She was also the former wife of Leonard Carroll and the widow of Charles W. Hovey.

In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by five children: John F. Carroll Sr., and his wife Wanda, of Gardner; Robin L. Tyo, and her husband Stephen, of Chepachet, Rhode Island; Steven D. Carroll, and his wife Oralia, of Manteca, California; Jeffrey W. Carroll, and his wife Cynthia, of Frank­lin;

and daughter Deanna L. Hovey of Providence, Rhode Island.

She leaves behind her 11 grandchildren: Mi­chelle Tyo, Stephen Tyo, Jason Carroll, John Car­roll Jr., Andrea Carroll, Steven Carroll, Seth Car­roll, Philip Gallagher, Jeffrey Carroll, Alan Moreno, and Kevin Moreno. Lois also leaves her brother Walter “Mac” McKenna, and his wife Edna, of Centerville.

She is also survived by many nieces and neph­ews, cousins, and nine great-grandchildren.
