Tips For Smooth Voting on May 11 On May 11, 2010 the Town of Norfolk will be having a DUAL Election: the Annual Town Election of Officers, and the Special State Senate Election. Here are some pointers to make your voting experience as pleasant as possible:1) When you arrive at the Polling Place (H O Day School), please take a moment to review the paper ballots posted at each precinct area and near the entrance. If you have any questions, please come to the Town Clerk/Wardens table. 2) Because this is a dual election, you will need to check in twice if you wish to receive both ballots. Please let the Checkers know if you want both the Town and State ballots or, if you are only voting in one of the elections, please indicate either ‘Town only’ or ‘State only’. 3) Please do not take a ballot if you are not going to vote in at least one race. Totally blank ballots will not be accepted by the voting machines. 4) If your name is not on the voting list, please first verify that you are in the correct precinct. If you are in the correct precinct but you are not on the list, you may have been made ‘inactive’ because you have not responded to the Annual Census. Please see the Warden or Town Clerk for assistance. |
