Richard A. Bragdon, 89 Dr. Richard A. Bragdon, 89, of Venice, Florida and Falmouth, died on Thursday, April 15, 2010.He was a graduate of the University of Maine and Johns Hopkins Medical School. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Needham for 35 years. He was president of the medical staff at Glover Memorial Hospital in Needham, for four years and also served as chief of Orthopedics and Emergency Services during his time there. He was a past president of the Needham Exchange Club. He was a longtime member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and American Board of Orthopedics Surgeons. He was a 50 years member of the Masonic Lodge of Norfolk. He was a member of the Sahib Shriners of Sarasota, Florida, and the Venice Shrine Club. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Thelma of Venice, Florida; his daughter Donna Lebson of Venice, Florida; Dr. Bruce Bragdon, Durham, New Hampshire; Scott Bragdon of Norfolk; and Gregg Bragdon of Derry, New Hampshire. He also leaves nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at The United Church of Christ in Venice, Florida. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice or the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. |
