Easter Weekend

Editor’s Note: Norfolk has three churches and a fourth church congregation that uses the town’s library.

This weekend is Good Friday, when Christians commemo­rate the suffering and death of Jesus of Nazareth, and Easter Sunday, when Christians mark the resurrection of Jesus. Below are the Good Friday and Easter schedules for churches in Norfolk.

St. Jude’s

As usual in the Roman Catholic Church, there is no Mass on Good Friday. Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, April 2. Holy Saturday schedule is also different from usual, as Mass is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.. (Confessions are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, April 3.)

For Easter Sunday (Sunday, April 4), Masses are sched­uled for 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and noon.

Friday, April 2 - Good Friday 7:00 pm – Tenebrae Service (Communion is to be available.)

Sunday, April 4 - Resurrection Sunday 6 a.m. – Sunrise Service at Stony Brook 108 North Street, Norfolk 8 a.m. & 10:45 am – Worship Services 9:15 a.m. – Fellowship Continental Breakfast No Christian Education classes

Federated Church of Norfolk

The Federated Church of Norfolk plans to hold a prayer vigil from 3 to 6 p.m. Good Friday (Friday, April 2). For Easter Sunday (Sunday, April 4), a sunrise service at Norfolk Cemetery at the intersection of Main Street and Seekonk Street is scheduled for 6:15 a.m.; followed by a 10 a.m. worship service with music at the church.
