Norfolk Firefighters Called to Extinguish Permit Fires

Norfolk firefightersspent a busy late afternoon on Saturday, March 20 responding to three fire calls within about ninety minutes. At 4:45 p.m., Engine 2 and Chief Coleman Bushnell responded to Wrentham for a house fire, Engine 2 staffed by four members covered the Wren­tham fire station,while Chief Bushnell was called to assist at the firescene. Three recalled staff at the Norfolk station then responded to Meetinghouse Lane for a firealarm activation due to cooking smoke, and Deputy Chief Ste­phen Wood with Engine 1 inves­tigated. Shortly thereafter a reported woods fire was reported on Need­ham

Street and Deputy Chief Wood responded with Squad 1 and Tank 1 to extinguish about a quarter acre of woods burning near the MCI-Norfolk property.
