Police Chief Says Police Layoffs Would Hurt
      The loss of two police officers would prevent Nor­folk police from offering traffic direction at H. Olive Day School and might prevent Norfolk from partici­pating in a regional SWAT team run by the Metropoli­tan Law Enforcement Council, Norfolk Police Chief Charles H. Fire Chief: We Can Save Paramedic Service
      The town’s Fire Department can decrease spend­ing by 4 percent and still maintain paramedic services in Norfolk, but the room to deal with contingencies will shrink dramatically, Fire Chief Coleman Bushnell told selectmen this week.

Hathaway: 4 Percent Cut May Not Be Enough
     Even a 4 percent reduction in Norfolk’s municipal budget next fiscal year still leaves the town with a pro­jected $336,000 deficit between expected revenues and expected expenses, Town Administrator Jack Hathaway said this week.

Parents Save Millis Country Day School
     Parents who send their infants and toddlers to Millis Country Day School have stepped in to save the school after it appeared to be going out of business. Several Norfolk families are among the more than 25 families who have raised more than $15,000 dur­ing the past week keep the school, said Thomas Burke, a Norfolk resident and one of the parents.
