Alfred Kwiatkowski
Alfred Kwiatkowski, 86, of Foxborough, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Alfred was born in Hyde Park, the youngest of six children, on July 21, 1923. He proudly served his country in the Construction Battalion of the United States Navy in the Philippines in World War II.
He has been a resident of Foxborough for the past 53 years. Alfred worked for many years for the New Haven Railroad and then as a Foreman and Machinist for Bird and Sons in Norwood for over 35 years.
He was an active current member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was an usher and a leader at his church who was famous for handing out hot balls and root beer barrels to the kids at the most inopportune times. He loved his faith, family, the sea and chocolate. His family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Franklin Skilled Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin who went above and beyond. Alfred joins his father and mother, Wladyslaw and Aurelija Kwiatkowski, and brothers and sisters who preceded him: Sophie, Stella, Jeanne, Vincent and Zennon. Alfred is survived by Beatrice (Quinn), his loving wife of nearly 67 years, and by his six children: Barbara Defresne of Norton, Dorothy
Bosworth of Foxborough, Donald Kwiatkowski of Nashville, Tenn., Sandra Ridge of Norton, Deborah Sulham of Foxborough and Judith Rayburg of North Attleboro. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child. Funeral from the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Foxborough.
