George W. Bresnahan George W. Bresnahan of West Newton died Wednesday, February 17, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen A. (Murphy) Bresnahan. He was the devoted father of Christine Bresnahan, and her husband Thomas Rock, of Middlefield; Edward of West Roxbury; George W. Jr., and his wife Linda, of Salem; Paul M., and his wife Natalie, of Newton; and John of San Francisco, California. He was the dear brother of Jean Casey of Canton, Mildred Potter of Franklin, and Ann Carmody of Norfolk. He was the loving grandfather of Isaac, Juliet, Betsy, Meg, Madeline, Liam; and the great- grandfather of Azzlyn. Funeral arrangements were handled by Burke & Blackington Funeral Home in West Newton. A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, February 20 at St. Bernard’s Church in West Newton. Burial was at Old Calvary Cemetery in Boston. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Helen & George Bresnahan Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Metco Scholarship Fund, 277 Auburn St., Newton, Mass. 02166. |
