Open Meeting Law Seminar In April

Town officials are inviting all members of town boards and committees to a free seminar on changes to the state’s Open Meeting Law that take effect July 1. Brian Riley, a partner at the Boston law firm Kopelman and Paige, is planning to discuss the changes to meeting notice requirements,

taking minutes and retaining records, and new definitions and a new enforcement process. Town Administrator Jack Hathaway said the law firm is providing the seminar free of charge to the town. The seminar is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 at Norfolk Public Library at 139 Main Street.

Anyone interested in attending is requested to send an email message by Friday, April 9 to Kay Doyle, a lawyer with Kopelman and Paige and an associate member of the Norfolk Zoning Board of Appeals, to kdoyle@k-plaw.com.
