Debit Card Racks Up Unauthorized Debits

A 23-year-old South Boston resident whose mother mailed him a bank automated teller machine debit card from the family home in Norfolk found that someone stole it and ran up about $3,300 in unauthorized charges on it, police said.

Charges showed up in Haverhill, Dorchester, Saugus, South Boston, Boston, Braintree, Lowell, and Quincy, said Norfolk Police Lieutenant Jon Carroll. Norfolk police took a report of the credit card fraud at 10:41 a.m. Saturday, February 20.
