Snow Forecast Curtails Classes and Joint Meeting of School Committees

The threat of snow this past Wednesday led school officials to cancel school at King Philip High School and King Philip Middle School, to let Norfolk elementary schools out at noon, and to cancel a planned joint meeting between the Norfolk School Committee and the King Philip School Committee to discuss sharing a superintendent. The snowstorm, which had been forecasted to dump 8 inches to a foot in the area, fizzled, topping off at 2 inches at most. The joint meeting of the two school committee may not be rescheduled

until early March or so, school officials said. It’s hard to come up with a date that works because the King Philip School Committee has nine members (including one who is also a member of the Norfolk School Committee), while the Norfolk School Committee has five.
