Photography Exhibit at Norfolk Library Explores Man, Nature Featuring the works of award-winning artists Robert Thomas and Dale Hoopingarner, a new photography show opened at the Norfolk Public Library on February 1. The exhibit will show explorations in nature, both up close in fine detail and broader scenes, contrasted with the works of man, fresh as well as weathered.Hoopingarner, a Milford artist who specializes in scanography, or scanner photography, creates digital scans of flowers and plants, producing remarkably crisp images with an almost 3-D effect to them. His work has won awards in various Massachusetts art shows and he was recently named Featured Artist by West Coast Imaging. Exploring landscapes, both urban and rural, and the play of light and texture on nature and weathered and worn structures, Thomas has been an active photographer in not just the U.S. but also Europe and Asia. His work has won numerous awards in shows on the east coast. The exhibit, sponsored by the Norfolk Cultural Council, runs through February 26. |
