Norfolk Firefighters Complete “Heavy Rescue” Training
Norfolk’s firefighters completed a four- day Technical Rescue program conducted by Heavy Rescue, a nationally known and respected firm which provides specialized firefightertraining, on Thursday, February 4. The members were certified in rope rescue including repelling and moving injured people via rope systems. Captain Peter Petruchik lead Norfolk’s team which included Lt./Paramedic Mike Findlen, FF/Paramedics Dave Russo, Mark Amiot and Jamie Masterson. Other participants in the programs were from the Millis and Plainville Fire Departments.

Capt. Petruchik, along with FF/Paramedics Russo and Masterson have recently joined the Norfolk County Technical Rescue Team. The “hands-on” portion of the program was conducted at Jofran, which donated the use of their facility for the rope work.
