An Events Calendar for Norfolk
Editor’s Note: Norfolk Public Library is at 139 Main Street in Norfolk Center. All places and ad­dresses below that do not specify a municipality are in the town of Norfolk. February Saturday, February 6

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants are invited to make and take Valen­tine’s Day greetings, crafts, and treats at Cupid’s Cool Craft Convention & Bake Sale at Norfolk Public Library. Junior Friends of the Library are scheduled to supply the materials and know-how. Proceeds benefit that organization. A sec­ond session with no bake sale is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 10.

Tuesday, February 9 noon to 1:30 p.m. Foxboro Christian Women is planning to hold a Valentine luncheon, affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries. Eric Nelson of Dover, a business consultant and an adjunct professor of business at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, plans to speak on “Heavenly Love” and to a mini-love con­cert with secular and sacred songs. The event is scheduled to take place at Lafayette House at the corner of Pine Street and Route 1 southbound in Foxborough. Tickets are $13, inclusive. Wednesday, February 10

6:45 p.m. Century 21 Commonwealth Medfield is spon­soring a seminar series providing information on tax credits for first-time homebuyers and current homeowners. Speakers include a tax ac­countant,

a real estate lawyer, and a mortgage expert. The seminars are to take place at the real estate agency’s office at 266 Main Street (Route 109) in Medfield. The buyer/seller seminar is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Wednesday February 10 and 6:45 p.m. Thursday March 4. The first-time home buyer seminar is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Saturday, February 13.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled to take place at St. Jude Church at 86 Main Street in Norfolk to replenish blood supplies that are run­ning low. To make an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767, go online to www.RedCrossBlood.org, or call Julie Dooley at 508-520-3303. noon The Norfolk Democratic Town Committee plans to hold a caucus at Norfolk Public Library to elect delegates to the State Democratic Conven­tion.

All residents of Norfolk who are registered Democrats are encouraged to attend and vote. Those interested in becoming delegates must be present to be elected. The 2010 Massachusetts Democratic Convention is scheduled for Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5 at the DCU Center in Worcester.

Monday, February 15

Washington’s Birthday [observed] [state and federal holiday]

Tuesday, February 16 1 to 2 p.m. Children in grades 4 and up are invited to “Learn To Spin a Yarn” at Norfolk Public Library. Par­ticipants

can try to spin their own yarn from sheep’s wool using a drop spindle and washed fleece from a local farm. The event is sponsored by Sunday Spinners. It is limited to 20 partici­pants.
