Police have received several reports of vandalism during the past week, including incidents where vandals have attacked Christmas decorations. A resident on Massachusetts Avenue saw three teen-agers outside his home around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, but didn’t think anything of it until he discovered around 11 p.m. that about $100 worth of Christmas decorations had been destroyed, said Norfolk Police Lieutenant Jon Carroll. The next day, Sunday, January 17, a resident of Wampanoag Avenue discovered that a 4-foot-tall lit plastic Christmas tree had been knocked over and destroyed, Carroll said.
A resident of Noon Hill Avenue reported three spotlights broken that same day. All three streets in the north central portion of Norfolk.
