A resident who thought he heard gunshots late one night recently actually heard the sound of a golf club smashing the windows of a neighbor’s vehicle, police said. Police recovered a Northwestern-brand metal gold driver on the ground at the scene of a damaged green 2007 Subaru

Legacy parked in a driveway near the corner of Frederickson Road and Grove Street, said Norfolk Police Lieutenant Jon Carroll.

Four windows in the rear of the vehicle were smashed, Carroll said. The owner of the vehicle was away at the time of the incident, which was reported at 12:18 a.m. Sunday, January 10, Carroll said. The home is in the central part of Norfolk. Around 9 a.m. that same morning, police got reports of two vehicles on Lakeshore Drive that sustained damage consistent with a golf club, Carroll said: a white 2001 Jeep Wagoneer and a white 1991 Nissan 240 SX. Lakeshore Drive is on Populatic Pond in northwest Norfolk.
