Norfolk’s Patrick Myers Helps Bluefish Swim Club Win 2009 New England Swimming Senior Title

Patrick Myers, 16, of Norfolk was among 34 Bluefish Swim Club members to qualify for and compete at the 2009 New England Swimming Senior Championship meet, which took place at Boston University, December 17-20.

Several hundred of New England’s top 13 and older swimmers competed at this meet. The Bluefish Swim Club ranked first place overall with 3,785.50 points.

Myers ranked fourth place overall for the Men with 231 points. He earned 1st place in the Male 200-yard backstroke with a swim time of 1:49.83 and 200-yard fly (1:49.63), 2nd place in the 100- yard fly (50.19) and 100-yard backstroke (51.43), 3rd place in the 400-yard individual medley (IM) (4:02.70) and 200-yard freestyle (1:42.44), and 6th place in the 200-yard IM (1:56.21).

The Bluefish Swim Club is a USA Swimming member and a participant in New England Swimming. No matter the swimmer’s age or ability, whether it be competing on its winning 175-member competitive swim team, participating in structured swim lessons for youngsters just learning to swim, or continuing a passion for swimming in the adult Master’s program, the Bluefish Swim Club offers a program for everyone at one of several locations - Attleboro High School, Attleboro; Wheaton College, Norton; Cumberland High School, Cumberland, R.I.; and Raynham Athletic Club, Raynham.
