Voter Revolt

Guest Column
By Bob Reed

On Tuesday, January 19 you have a chance to let your voice be heard. Rarely, especially in Massachusetts, do you get to vote for real change. However, this election provides that opportunity.

The choice is clear. Do you vote for a candidate whose platform consists of “channeling” the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s wishes or do you choose the candidate ready to say “not so fast”? Are you willing to examine the issues that will affect you and your family for years to come or vote simply based on the sex of the candidate? Then again, if you like the direction things are heading, fine. If the status quo works for you, fine. However, if things seem to be going in a direction that feels uncomfortable, make your voice heard. Unlike previous elections, this is not the time for apathy.

So my plea is as follows: look hard at the issues; realize that the winner of this United States Senate seat will directly affect national policy and above all, vote.

And stealing a line from a popular movie…”I know you are out there.” Now prove it on January 19.
